It seems like it could be helpful to look at how the Church (the living and breathing Body of Christ) applied the teachings of St. Paul and St. Peter on governmental authority. What we read in the lives of the Saints is instructive and perhaps not really all that complicated or confusing. It was also incredibly effectual. Under the guidance of the Apostles, the Church of Christ transformed an empire responsible for brutalizing and killing Christ and His Body to a Christian Empire brandishing Christian symbols on their armor. St. Paul’s personal target was to convert the Roman Emperor, and though he personally failed, he and others paved the way for the future conversion of the Roman Emperor, which found its fruition in St. Constantine. What did the Church do to accomplish this? They died, like Christ, because they knew that death had been conquered in Christ. And, that’s what we need to do. ;). Simple. Thank you for your thoughts and for the opportunity to dialogue here.
Yo Rhodes, I love the way you write! Your wisdom and curiosity are compelling. Looking forward to reading more of your thoughts on the subject.
Thanks brother! Part 2 came out today, hope you like it. It’s been ages, old friend. Hope you’re well
As always, so good!
